How Much Will a Website Cost?
This is the most Frequently Asked Question we get at Circuit Riders: "How much will a website cost?"
I've just been asked again by somebody from our contact us page. There are 2 answers to the question: short and long. The short answer is "It depends." In order to give you any other answer, we need to know more information.
If you ask us "How much does it cost?", we in turn will ask you what sort of site you want. Do you have an existing site? Will the site support an existing business? Do you know any HTML? How big will it be? etc. For example, if someone asks how much it will cost to build an online store, we begin with the following questions and more:
- Do you have a hosted domain?
- What type of business structure do you have?
- Do you have a sales tax ID and other licenses from the proper government agencies?
- What do you want to sell?
- How many?
- Are you currently selling these products in other places?
- If yes, where? What is your current business model?
- Do you have a Merchant Account?
- Do you know any HTML or have any website or software development experience?
- If yes, how much?
- If no, do you want to learn?
- Who will maintain your store?
- What type of inventory and accounting systems are you using?
- What OS do you use?
- What are your computer skills in general?
- Do you have a budget for this project?
