Earthbag building experts.
Task:
Create a new website to support the clients' recently published book on earthbag building, their seminars, and their growing consulting business. The site had to be easy for them to maintain and to grow with their business, and the scope included several hours of training. The site also had to support the ability to add more complicated features over time, such as an image gallery and a way to sell their book from the site.

Technical Notes:
These are very talented and creative professionals. Our main concern was to develop a site that would provide technical structure and examples for them to follow, without dictating the final design. We gave them the ability express their own creative vision while learning how to maintain the site themselves. Our focus was to develop an informational website that includes examples of basic HTML and PHP code for bullets, links, contact form, etc., with significant comments for documentation.
We developed the site employing CSS for both layout and style, and using PHP include files for repeating page elements such as headers, footers, and navigation. The CSS file and the PHP includes are all heavily commented with internal documentation.
Training encompassed the entire development process, from registering for a new domain name through uploading files to the production website. It also included downloading free, Open Source HTML editing and FTP software tools.
